Two New Medicare Seminars in July 2017

Jacqueline Ramirez of Anthem/Blue Cross will be conducting two seminars in July,

  • one in Thousand Oaks on July 10,
  • and one in Simi Valley on July 27.
  • Information will also be provided on the popular SilverSneakers.
  • For information on how to reserve a seat for one of these seminars, click on this link July_Events_ABCs Event 1PG 2017 CA

For more information on the seminars, particularly for future retirees, click on this link Age-In Still Working Call Me 1PG 2017 CA

I attended one of Jacqueline’s seminars on April 26, 2017 after learning about it at a Benefits Committee meeting chaired by Gary Johnson.  For my report on this seminar click on this link “Medicare Anyone?” which will take you to the web page What’s New of the retirees’ vcccdra.org website.  You’ll have to scroll down to find the article.

Be sure to read the “Welcome…” article in this blog which discusses who among retirees should consider enrolling in Medicare.

I know others have attended a similar seminar conducted by Jacqueline, and if you have any comments that you wish to share about attending one of these seminars you can send them to me for inclusion in this blog, or simply fill out a comment below.

  1. Hello from Eugene, Oregon. I live here 50% of the time, and love it. Love California too!
Please keep me informed, change my email to what is shown below in required fields.*
In a couple of years I will want to know more about medicare choices and supplemental insurance.
Very curious if “Anthem Blue Cross” is usable in Oregon, as everyone I know up here has “Regents Blue Cross.” Currently I have Kaiser which is slowly developing here at a very slow rate. So Cal Kaiser allows me up to 10 visits per year here at Eugene Urgent Care. Thus far, I have never needed it. I always go to California for my annual physical and real health concerns. Does anyone have experience to share with using Anthem Blue Cross across state lines? Please, I would love to hear from you. Best regards, please enjoy life!

    1. The blog which I started about two years ago developed some technical difficulties that I could not address at that time, so the blog has lain dormant all of this time. My apologies for responding so late to your comment.

First, I hope you have been keeping up with reviewing our website (vcccdra.org) from time to time so that therefore you would know of Katy Lyon and now Janice Endo from the district office. They are the ones who would be able to address your questions regarding the use of Anthem across state lines. I am responding by email to make sure you get this in a timely fashion, but I will also include this response at our blog in case someone can respond to your query about using Anthem Blue Cross across statelines.

Whenever you need a faster response to any queries that you may have, you can always go to the Exec Board page at vcccdra.org and email anyone on the Exec Board with any questions that you may have. It was very nice hearing from you and I hope all is going well for you.
